Maryland Has Joined the Fight. Now Let's Make Sure Young People Win.

Maryland's Attorney General has sued Meta for the harms social media has caused to young people's mental health. That's a significant step. But the lawsuit is just the beginning. What happens to any settlement funds matters just as much as the lawsuit itself.

That's where Fund IRL comes in.

Fund IRL is a national coalition working to ensure that any money from social media lawsuits goes directly toward the programs and services that help young people thrive in real life: afterschool and summer programs, mentoring, mental health services, arts, sports, and other community-based opportunities. These are exactly the kinds of programs Maryland's young people count on every day.

MOST is proud to be a Fund IRL coalition member, and we're calling on Maryland providers, families, and advocates to add their voices.

Here's what you can do right now:

Take the state survey — Fund IRL wants to hear from advocates, providers, and young people across Maryland about what youth need. Complete this survey today!

Sign up for the MOST newsletter — We'll keep you informed as this effort moves forward and send action alerts when Maryland needs to hear from you. Subscribe here.

Learn more and join the coalition — Visit fundirl.org to explore the resources, read the research, and find out how your organization can sign on.

Social media companies knew what they were doing. Now it's time to make sure any accountability translates into real investment in Maryland's young people.
